SCAH VAV COOLING/ADJUSTABLE HEATING
The SCAH “Smart Diffuser” change over from the heating and cooling modes are determined by the supply air temperature. Change -over to heating mode begins when supply air temperature rises above 74 degrees. This disengages the room temperature control cooling actuator #3. Change-over back to cooling mode begins when supply air temperature falls below 68 degrees. In the return air mode supply air temperature is approx. 74 degrees, the diffuser will run at about 50% volume.
OPERATION
Heating mode - warm supply air will result in a full open warm-up position initiated by actuator #1. Then modulating to a preset position for heating (factory set minimum flow) controlled by actuator #2. In this mode, room temperature does not effect the heating position. It is completely adjustable by the occupant from full open to full closed.
The
solid face panel is held in place by four spring clips. To
remove the face panel for room temperature adjustments, approach panel
from the induction trough side (the rectangle opening) reach above the
panel on both sides with your forefingers until you are able to place
your forefingers behind the spring clips. Using your thumbs on the front
edge of
“Smart” diffusers are factory calibrated to approximately 74 degrees Fahrenheit. For a cooler room temperature turn room actuator clockwise. For a warmer room temperature turn room actuator counter clockwise. Determine room temperature set-point by aligning the end of the actuator with the indicators on the temperature scale. Each full rotation or each indicator on the scale will equal plus or minus approximately 2 degrees.
Heating set-point is factory set at minimum flow or 1/4 open. Heating adjustments are made by turning the adjustment rod located next to the room actuator. For more heating turn adjustment rod counter clockwise, For less heating turn adjustment rod clockwise. Heating control is adjustable from a full open position to a full closed position.
Adjustable Heating The ability to adjust the warm air volume to a full closed position will minimize the interior space for over-heatng problems. The ability to adjust the warm air volume to a desired opening which satisfies most of the heating situations allows for a satisfactory comfort condition to be achieved. The indivdual VAV room temperature cooling control provides the ultimate in the indvidual space temperature control when the supply air is cool. |
